FLORA OF ICELAND elements: Sagina nodosa, Knotted Pearlwort, Hnúskakrækill

Sagina nodosa; The knotted pearlwort is a small plant that grows all over Iceland except for regions of higher altitudes. It grows on on open soils. Characteristic are the tiny leaves on the flowering stems.
It is a member of the Pink family (Caryophyllaceae). The Icelandic name of this species is Hnúskakrækill.
